This recipe is inspired by a cardamom date cake I ate at Monsoon restaurant in Stone Town. The restaurant is one of those places that strives to give diners a glance into a true Swahili dining experience with Taarab and ngoma music performances. Tanzania’s East Africa Quail and Wine Company (the importers) showcased Lutzville’s popular range of single grape varieties at a VIP reception where guests had the opportunity to meet Jaco van Niekerk, the vineyard’s senior wine maker.
