The long-awaited launch of Jack Daniel’s latest whiskey in Dar last Friday night was a truly buzzing occasion. The uber cool venue choice of High Spirit’s rooftop bar was the perfect setting for Dar’s social butterflies to be ushered into the world of Jack Daniel’s by ushers dressed as beekeepers. The organisers did a great branding job with a super stage and even had an artist creating a Jack Honey graffiti wall during the evening.
Guests were treated to popular house and R&B tunes from DJ Vasley while the coolest photographer in town, Michael Carter Mlingwa of Slide Visuals, captured memorable moments from this Jack Daniel’s spectacular. (Forgive the gushing about the photographer, Michael is my cousin).Jack Daniels Honey is a blend of regular Jack Daniels Old No. 7 and a spiced honey liqueur. It’s described as having plenty of sweetness, floral undertones and a long smooth finish. At the party it was served on the rocks and as a Whiskey sour cocktail. Fortunately there was an endless supply of beef mishkakis, mini sausages and beetroot croquettes to help guests absorb Jack’s hospitality.I am not a drinker of typical whiskey, but this drink is the perfect marriage of a true honey flavor and the deep rich taste of Jack Daniels. In my opinion it will appeal to both Jack Daniels enthusiasts and those new to the whiskey world. Me and my girlfriends at the party became instant fans of the flavoured whiskey.
Jack Daniel’s Brand Manager in Tanzania, John Ntuli, recommends drinking Jack Honey ice cold or in your favourite whiskey cocktail.
Other variants of Jack Daniel’s already selling in Tanzania include the flagship brand Old No.7, and the more premium brands Gentleman Jack and Single Barrel. The brands are distributed by Mark Techno Tanzania. So why not get a taste of Tennessee for someone special this Christmas?
