Bookings open for the South African Chamber of Commerce UK’s Gala Dinner at London’s Mansion House

The South African Chamber of Commerce UK’s London Gala Dinner will take place at Mansion House from 6pm on Tuesday, 22nd March 2022.

The extremely prestigious venue in the the capital’s historic “Square Mile” is the official residence of the Lord Mayor of the City of London. It is therefore appropriate that the host for the evening will be recent past Lord Mayor, Sir Peter Estlin. Sir Peter has a financial services background and through his role as CFO of Barclays Bank has an expert understanding of international finances between the City and beyond.

A function at the Egyptian Hall, Mansion House, in 1809.

The dinner will take place in the stunning 18th-century Egyptian Hall, an imposing space seating 350. Those present on the evening will notice the Hall has nothing Egyptian about the design or decor. The Hall was the creation of Italian architect Andrea Palladio who based his drawings on the work of the classical Roman architect Vitruvius who worked on Roman buildings in Egypt. The imposing marble statues date from the mid-19th century as does the beautiful stained glass.

The venue for the Gala Dinner in the heart of London’s financial centre reflects the growing relationship between the respected organisation promoting UK-SA business links and the City of London, the home of international trade.

This year promises to be the Chamber’s most prestigious Gala event and a premiere networking opportunity for the organisation’s lively mix of members and valued sponsors. The evening’s focus will be convivial company, excellent wine and sumptuous food in a truly impressive venue. The event is held thanks to Standard Bank and other supporters of one of the UK’s most dynamic international chambers of commerce.
